چکیده
Characterizing the wind speed distribution properly is essential for satisfactory production of potential energy in farms, being mixture models usually employed description such data. However, some commonly have undesirable property non-identifiability. In this work, we present an alternative which able to fit data decently. The new model, called Normal-Weibull-Weibull, identifiable and its cumulative function written as a composition two baseline functions. We discuss structural properties class that generates proposed linear representation probability density function, moments moment generating function. perform Monte Carlo simulation study investigate behavior maximum likelihood estimates parameters. Finally, applications modelling measured five different cities Northeastern Region Brazil.

Modelling Wind for Wind Farm Layout Optimization Using Joint Distribution of Wind Speed and Wind Direction
Reliable wind modelling is of crucial importance for wind farm development. The common practice of using sector-wise Weibull distributions has been found inappropriate for wind farm layout optimization. In this study, we propose a simple and easily implementable method to construct joint distributions of wind speed and wind direction, which is based on the parameters of sector-wise Weibull dist...

In this paper we study the existence of fixed points for mappings defined on complete metric spaces, satisfying a general contractive inequality depending on two additional mappings.
متن کاملOn the Concavity of Multivariate Probability Distribution Functions on the Concavity of Multivariate Probability Distribution Functions
We prove that the multivariate standard normal probability distribution function is concave for large argument values. The method of proof allows for the derivation of similar statements for other types of multivariate probability distribution functions too. The result has important application, e.g., in probabilistic constrained stochastic programming problems.
متن کاملMODELLING AND ANALYSIS OF A DISCRETE-TIME PRIORITY QUEUING COMPUTER NETWORK WITH PRIORITY JUMPS USING PROBABILITY GENERATING FUNCTIONS
Priority queues have a great importance in the study of computer communication networks in which different types of traffic require different quality of service standards. The discrete-time non-preemptive priority queuing model with priority jumps is proposed in this paper. On the basis of probability generating functions mean system contents and mean queuing delay characteristics are obtained....
